Big Day of Giving 2020 - THANK YOU!!

Big Day of Giving 2020 | CCHAT Sacramento

THANK YOU For Your Donations!

Our $50,000 goal was set last year after we'd completed the 2019 campaign which generated just over $40,000 for our program. $50,000 was definitely a stretch goal at the time. Then COVID-19 arrived and there was truly no way of knowing just how devastating the virus was going to be to our fundraising efforts.

We went into BDOG 2020 hoping to benefit fully from the $15,000 match we'd received. No one wants to leave match money on the table. Our generous supporters kept giving long after the match money was exhausted.

They helped us achieve our most successful Big Day of Giving to date. After entering all of our offline contributions, our total for 2020 is $44,135!

This was definitely a team effort and the success is shared by everyone! A few fun and exciting facts about this year's campaign...

  • 100% Board Giving
  • 232 online donations - a 35% increase over last year
  • 15 peer-to-peer fundraising pages - almost double from 2019 --> These pages did more than broaden our reach and spread awareness, they generated $12,377... $8,605 more than last year

Yesterday was a landmark day for CCHAT!

It was truly amazing and heartwarming to see so much participation from our families, staff, alumni, board and community supporters. We thank you all for making it such a special day for CCHAT and our students!

Your support helps us sustain a program that means so much to so many.

What Was Big Day of Giving?

Big Day of Giving 2020 | CCHAT Sacramento

This annual special event was a 24-hour online giving challenge that brings the local community together to help raise money and shine a spotlight on all the great work nonprofits are doing in our region.

CCHAT's 6th Big Day of Giving campaign focused on the listening, spoken language and literacy skills that students develop while enrolled in our program. Research shows that children who are deaf and hard of hearing are at risk for serious reading deficiencies, but children with hearing loss who acquire spoken language hav a mush easier time learning to read and write, which is critical to learning in all academic areas. Children with hearing loss who learn to listen and talk, perform at levels comparable to their hearing peers.

Big Day of Giving 2020 Overall

This event raised $12 million for 615 nonprofits!! Thank you, Sacramento region, for proving that nothing can touch our giving spirit during Big Day of Giving 2020.
