Big Day of Giving Early Giving has Begun!

Our theme for Big Day of Giving 2024 is AMPLIFY (make louder, increase, boost). Our students use amplification in the form of hearing aids and cochlear implants to access sound – an important first step in learning to listen and talk. CCHAT’s expert staff of teachers, speech therapists and audiologists amplifies each child’s experience by providing unrivaled listening and spoken language instruction. These services propel students who are deaf and hard of hearing (DHH) to achieve proficient oral communication skills, empowering them to flourish in a hearing world. And donors like you amplify our ability to meet the hearing health needs of children throughout our community. This includes our students, infants in need of hearing screenings, and DHH children in neighboring school districts receiving mainstream support.

What Is Big Day of Giving?

This special event is a 24-hour online giving challenge on May 2 that brings the local community together to help raise money and shine a spotlight on all the great work nonprofits are doing in our region.

CCHAT's 10th Big Day of Giving campaign focuses on the listening, spoken language and literacy skills that students develop while enrolled in our program. Research shows that children who are deaf and hard of hearing are at risk for serious reading deficiencies, but children with hearing loss who acquire spoken language have a much easier time learning to read and write, which is critical to learning in all academic areas. Children with hearing loss who learn to listen and talk, perform at levels comparable to their hearing peers.

Our students depend on these essential services, and your generosity truly changes lives.
