Celebrating Connection: The 2025 CCHAT Reunion Brings Together Alumni, Families, and Staff

HIGHLIGHT

For 28 years, CCHAT has served as a powerful community resource. Over that time, a tight-knit community has developed. Hundreds of families have been impacted by the program, and their kids’ success is a byproduct of not just the comprehensive services provided but the loving support system created by staff and families.

The 2025 CCHAT Reunion provided an opportunity to celebrate all the amazing aspects of CCHAT. On April 26th, dozens of members of the CCHAT family gathered on campus for a day of connection, as well as a delicious BBQ and potluck lunch. A light rain was unable to dampen the spirits of attendees, who reminisced about old times or were inspired with hope for their journey to come.

Reconnecting Alumni

Cherished Friendships and Lasting Bonds

For years, the CCHAT Reunion, formerly known as Homecoming, has provided alumni students with an opportunity to rekindle relationships with former classmates. While some stay in touch upon leaving CCHAT, others rely on events like the CCHAT Reunion to maintain these bonds. This year’s event was no different.

Alumni students from across the region returned to CCHAT, where they were happy to see their former classmates. Most picked up right where they left off, sharing life updates and even making plans to get together after the event. The CCHAT Reunion remains a day that alums mark on their calendars as an opportunity to reconnect and bond with friends from their time at CCHAT.

Family Connections

Building a Supportive Community Beyond CCHAT

For families at CCHAT, the support system developed with other moms, dads, grandparents, and family members is one that extends far beyond campus. They share successes, comfort each other during challenging moments, and become friends, bonded by their children’s journeys.

Due to busy schedules and the distance traveled by many families who attend CCHAT, maintaining contact can be challenging when families exit the program. The CCHAT Reunion served as a terrific opportunity to renew these friendships, and families took full advantage of the time to laugh, share stories, and remember old times on campus.

Inspiring New Families

Hope and Guidance for Current CCHAT Families

The CCHAT Reunion is not just for alumni students. Current CCHAT families and kids are encouraged to attend. Besides being a fun day full of food and friends, the Reunion provides current parents with an opportunity to interact with alumni families. Seeing the success of these former students gives hope to those with children just beginning their CCHAT journeys. Many current families took advantage of this opportunity, as advice was shared and inspiration was provided.

Staff Engagement

Celebrating Student Success Together

There are few things more rewarding for CCHAT staff members than seeing past students come back as successful young adults. CCHAT dedicates so much to these children, and events like the CCHAT Reunion make it all worth it when former students return to share updates, educational and social successes, and say “thank you” for helping me achieve my goals.

As always, the CCHAT Reunion was a great setting for these interactions. Whether it was children who left in the past year sharing an update from kindergarten or students who hadn’t been back to CCHAT in close to a decade, CCHAT staff were delighted to spend time with their former students. The personal nature of the CCHAT program produces close bonds between staff and students, and these are always happily rekindled by the Reunion.
